Dr. Mike Simone:
DC, CCSP, Dipl. Med. Ac., FICC
Dr. Simone received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, from Logan College of Chiropractic. He entered private practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1987 and relocated to Colorado in 1999 with his wife Jannine.
Dr. Simone is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of the Amercian Chiropractic Association and currently serves on its Board of Governors--representing a nine-state region. He is a former Executive Board member of the Colorado Chiropractic Association. In 2007, Dr. Simone was inducted into the International College of Chiropractors as a “Fellow”—one of the most honored awards in the chiropractic profession.
Dr. Simone has completed a three-year post-graduate orthopedics program. He is also a Certified Medical Examiner authorized by the US Department of Transportation to perform medical examinations for commercial drivers. Dr. Simone is certified to perform physicals for middle and high school athletes.
With over 245 postgraduate classroom hours and 200 supervised clinical hours of acupuncture training (far exceeding the requirements to practice acupuncture in the state of Colorado), Dr. Simone has been admitted to the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture as a “Fellow” and “Diplomate”, the highest academic standing with the organization. Dr. Simone’s acupuncture training has taken him to Cuba, where he studied acupuncture anesthesia for use in a wide variety of surgical situations.
He has also completed a one-year post-graduate certification program in Sports Medicine. After passing a rigorous national board examination, he has been designated a “Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician” by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Dr. Simone is a member of the American Chiropractic Association's Sports Council.
Dr. Simone has over 17 years experience teaching anatomy and physiology, pathology and general biology at the community college level and was director of anatomy and physiology at a nursing school in Norfolk, VA. He currently volunteers teaching anatomy at Fort Lupton School Districts' Core Knowledge K-8 Quest Academy located in Dacono, CO.
Dr. Simone served his community as the Mayor of Firestone, Colorado. He has also served as a member of the Firestone Parks and Trails Committee and Planning Commission. He currently serves as Chairman of the Ft. Lupton Planning Commission, President of the Weld Re-8 (Ft. Lupton) School District, board member of the Ft. Lupton Housing Authority, and was appointed by the Weld County Commissioners as a Trustee of the Northern Colorado Medical Center.
Jannine Simone: MS, PT
Jannine is a native Coloradoan. In 1994 she received her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado. After working for a year in an outpatient orthopedic clinic in Lakewood, she became a traveling therapist and explored the eastern United States.
After Jannine gained experience in all areas of physical therapy, she accepted, a three month position in Virginia. However, she met and married Dr. Simone and remained in Virginia for four years, returning to Colorado in 1999.
Most of Jannine's physical therapy experience is in outpatient orthopedics. She describes herself as a manual therapist competent in treating musculoskeletal conditions throughout the body and providing rehabilitation for post-surgical patients--with special focus in knee and hip replacement. Jannine is also a physical therapist for the St. Vrain Valley School District. She sees a very limited number of patients at Simone Physical Medicine.
