Dr. Mike Simone DC, CCSP, Dipl. Med. Ac., FICC
Dr. Simone received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, from Logan University. He entered private practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1987 and relocated to Colorado in 1999 with his wife Jannine.
Dr. Simone is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of the Amercian Chiropractic Association and served on its Board of Governors--representing a nine-state region--for over 6 years. He is a former Executive Board member of the Colorado Chiropractic Association. In 2007, Dr. Simone was inducted into the International College of Chiropractors as a “Fellow”—one of the most honored awards in the chiropractic profession. He was honored as the 2015 Chiropractor of the Year by the American Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Simone has completed a three-year post-graduate orthopedics program. He is also a Certified Medical Examiner authorized by the US Department of Transportation to perform medical examinations for commercial drivers. Dr. Simone is certified to perform physicals for middle and high school athletes.
With over 270 postgraduate classroom hours and 200 supervised clinical hours of acupuncture and dry needling training (far exceeding the requirements to practice acupuncture and dry needling in the state of Colorado), Dr. Simone has been admitted to the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture as a “Fellow” and “Diplomate”, the highest academic standing with the organization. Dr. Simone’s acupuncture training has taken him to Cuba, where he studied acupuncture anesthesia for use in a wide variety of surgical situations.
He has also completed a one-year post-graduate certification program in Sports Medicine. After passing a rigorous national board examination, he was awarded the designation of “Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician” by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Dr. Simone is a member of the American Chiropractic Association's Sports Council. His sports medicine travels have taken him to Italy to treat athletes in the CSIT World Games. Dr. Simone also volunteers at the annual Senior Pro Rodeo in Estes Park.
Dr. Simone has over 17 years experience teaching anatomy and physiology, pathology and general biology at the community college level and was director of anatomy and physiology at a nursing school in Norfolk, VA. He currently volunteers teaching anatomy at Fort Lupton School Districts' Core Knowledge K-8 Quest Academy located in Dacono, CO.
Dr. Simone served his community as the Mayor of Firestone, Colorado. He has also served as a member of the Firestone Parks and Trails Committee and Planning Commission. He currently serves as Chairman of the Ft. Lupton Planning Commission, is past president of the Weld Re-8 (Ft. Lupton) School District, board member of the Ft. Lupton Housing Authority, and was appointed by the Weld County Commissioners as a Trustee for the Northern Colorado Medical Center.
Dr. Michelle Smith
Dr. Michelle Smith is a physiatrist specializing in pain management who is originally from Franklin, Tennessee. She went to college at Louisiana State University, medical school at Tulane University, and finally moved to Colorado for residency training. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado and her fellowship training in Pain Management at Texas Tech University. She specializes in treating pain from a multidisciplinary approach with a focus on helping people regain physical function and increasing quality of life.
Dr. Smith loves the Colorado outdoors and particularly enjoys camping and skiing with her friends and family. She is looking forward to getting married in the fall. Dr. Smith is committed to improving the delivery of care through collaboration of healthcare disciplines, including chiropractic, medical, physical therapy, massage and acupuncture. She is pleased to be teamed up with Simone Physical Medicine to help ensure care that is efficient and effective.
